It's been a BIG DAY at F.O.A. H.Q. - we did our very random drawing of the 12fortunate folks who won something or another in our FIRST EVER onlinepromotional contest!
Amy actually did the numbers. I had her select 12 figures between 1 and 6,910and then charted out the winning email addresses accordingly. You winners arealso receiving an email from me tonight, so be sure and get back to meA.S.A.P. with your choices and your complete names and mailing addresses!
I recorded Amy picking her numbers so that any interested parties could seejust how "random" the selection was. She chose everything from "3" becausethat's how many children she has to "6,910" because they slipped in under thewire. I hope to be able to upload some or all of that audio at the NetCentralpage featuring the names of our winners. Either way, I shall post the text ofthe "script". It was pretty funny, actually :-) I'll let you know right herewhen the page goes up or feel free to check in periodically athttp://www.netcentral.net
My dear husband (aka "Mr. Spreadsheet") printed out some pretty interestingstats in the wake of our contest. I won't bore you with all the details, butI found it interesting that out of a total of 6,924 addresses (there was somelag time between our drawing and Husband's analysis), there were 3,041 domainnames represented. Of those - 733 had two or more addresses. America Onlinerepresented by far the biggest single chunk of addresses with 1,112. And ofthe educational institutions (.edu), our own Belmont University lead thepack. Simply fascinating!
In looking ahead...the new album! The title is BEHIND THE EYES. The nearest Ican give you for a release date at this point is "no later than July 1,1997". As soon as that gets firmed up and as soon as they have a releaseschedule for the first single - I will let you know! We are also prettyjazzed about our next contest so STAY TUNED! We will launch on May 1 andbeginning May 5, have at least TWO WEEKLY DRAWINGS for some pretty nifty,limited edition, special pre-release CD's. This will be our countdown to theday when BEHIND THE EYES shows up on your neighborhood store shelves. Theinternational release date is the same as the domestic one - so no matterwhere you are on the globe - this new project will be as close as your localA&M or Myrrh Records distributor makes it.
