Where to begin...Well, BEHIND THE EYES is actually FINISHED!Yup! They did the sequencing on Tuesday. Dropped the fun/funny/silly song infavor of the new tune. Amy is so pleased, she said, "it just flows". Mr.Anderle at A&M called her at home and said that he wouldn't change a thing.Well, alrighty then! They should be mastering it in the coming week. TheTENTATIVE release date is August 19. We should be hearing the first singlealong about July 8, but as always - I'll keep you posted as the day getscloser!
And TODAY marked the kickoff of a new promotional countdown right here incyberspace for this new release. Check out the new contest page atwww.netcentral.net and you can see one of the BRAND NEW album photo shootpictures in living color. On Monday, May 5 - I'll commence picking winnersfrom among all you subscribers to receive a special edition, pre-release CD.In the meantime, I'll also be picking winners at surprise and unexpectedmoments... LIKE TODAY! Yes, today one fortunate soul will be drawn to receivethe CD and commemorative booklet of MUSIC OF THE SPIRIT, the ceremony ofpresentation of the Pax Christi Award from St. Johns University inCollegeville, Minnesota. And why did I give that away today? Because it waspresented to Amy on May 1, 1994. So, expect the unexpected as I move throughthe calendar with you in anticipation of some new, great music from Amy!
Met with Amy yesterday and will again tomorrow as we're in "newsletter mode"right now. What a great issue this will be! Can't wait to show you thefantastic photos! I'm thinking the reading will be good, too. Issue #31 willbe another anniversary edition commemorating Amy's 20 years in the studio(not continuous, of course).
And we've got a SURPRISE coming up... I can't make the announcement untilnext Wednesday, but I will tell you this much...get your VCRs fired up andhave a fresh video tape at the ready before Friday May 9! You'll be mightysorry if you don't as it's a once in a lifetime opportunity...
Gosh, I've got so many experiences to report on...Amy at the Bluebird withWomen In The Round and some GMA observations and Sam's Place... And we shouldhave a lot more on Christmas happenings in the coming weeks. Amy is takingthe whole Nashville Symphony on the road with her Tennessee Christmas showcomplete with full choir and all the lights and staging you've come to expectfrom this holiday extravaganza. The tour will cover the eastern part of theUS (from Dallas to Philadelphia) and she'll head west during the '98Christmas season. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas... I love it!
Well, that's enough news for one post. I've got to contact today's winner...And remember - if you are indeed a winner in our little contest - yourmessage will have a subject like something like: YOU'RE TODAYS BIG WINNER!
Until next post...
