Hold onto your hats, kids!
OK, First of all, the BEHIND THE EYES album release date has been moved backonce again - September 9. (I can't help but think of a line from Disney'sALADIN, "I think I'll have a heart-attack and die of NOT surprise!")
Consequently, the first radio single release has been moved back. TENTATIVELYlate July. At this point, "Time" (or "It Takes A Little Time") is set to bethe first single for both mainstream and Christian music radio. There is alsotalk of making a maxi single available retail. (The CCM Update tells me itwill ship to Christian retail outlets on July 15.) Amy has just re-recordedher classic "El Shaddai"; scheduled to be included on the maxi single. Thisexplains why she chose to sing that particular tune at the Word Spectacularduring Dove week...
We have just added a new sponsor to our online contest - Taylor Guitars! Yup, they are providing a Baby Taylor which I'll have Amy sign for thewinner and we'll give it away to someone on this very list on the day thealbum hits the stores. How about a rousing cheer for the good folks atTaylor! Hip, Hip, Hurray!!!!!
Christmas plans are taking shape, though this far out, TENTATIVE is the keyword. I might actually have a tour itinerary for Amy's Tennessee Christmas onthe-road for the June issue of the newsletter. If not - I will be doing aseparate mailing for all our snailmail subscribers. Let me remind you thatadvance ticket order forms for these shows and invitations to our "SecondEver FRIENDS OF AMY Tennessee Christmas Reception" are available to FOANEWSLETTER SUBSCRIBERS ONLY. These perks are NOT available by virtue of beingon this list. I have created a new screen name especially for all our holidayfun, so direct all your related correspondence to:[email protected](NOTE for hair-splitting trivia buffs: I prefer to write outC-h-r-I-s-t-m-a-s whenever I have the chance. However, it doesn't bother meto see or use the "X" in abbreviation as this notation was actually begun byour church fathers. "X" being shorthand for "Christ" as it is the firstletter of His Name in the Greek.)
Hope you're having a wonderful Memorial weekend. My family and I justreturned from a day in medieval England at the Tennessee RenaissanceFestival. What jolly fun! Huzzah! I haven't even tried to catch up with Amyyet. Last Monday, she shot her segment for CeCe Winan's new musical varietyshow "CeCe's Place" which will air this September on Odyssey (a nationalreligious cable TV network). She spent the rest of the week in Baltimore atThe Academy of Achievement involving select industry professionals and highschool seniors from across the country. At some point this afternoon, Amygained a new nephew-in-law and the "big doin's" was at Riverstone. I'vealready left her several messages so the ball's in her court to call me back. She knows we have a newsletter to finish!
In the words of the good gentle's of yore, "God ya good den!" (God give you agood day!)

PS - Just for added interest, I also read in my CCM Update that in a recentsurvey comissioned by the Christian Trade Association, Miss Amy scored prettyhigh on the ole recognition scale: "the research provicdes no earth-shakingrevelations other than the appearance that participants who deemed themselves"Christian music listeners" are not at all familiar with Christian artists -the the exception of Amy Grant who garnered a 70 percent awareness level withthis group and 67 percent with the group referred to as "non-Christian musiclisteners". From there the number declined significantly among listeners andnon-listeners..."
