Gosh, I've been busier than a one-armed paper hanger around here lately.Wanted to stop a minute and give you the updates in Amy's schedule as I havethem.
First - Two dates on the Christmas Tour have flip-flopped.
Dallas, TX is now December 13
Oklahoma City, OK is now December 14
Below you will find Amy's appearances as I have them. I have been dogginganyone that I thought might have the answer to those age-old questions of"Where can we see Amy?" I finally irked someone sufficiently that theystopped to explain the facts of life in that arena. Odd as it sounds - thereis no one person anywhere that tracks all of Amy's air dates. For one thing -so many of the "tabloid TV" type shows don't necessarily promise or confirman air date. And even if they did - if something more sensational breaks -Amy's segment would be postponed or possibly cancelled. This week is anexcellent example. If Amy was scheduled to be shown - surely the coverage ofthe tragic death and funeral of Princess Diana would have pre-empted it all.I guess that Michael W. Smith filmed some segments around the release of hislatest and some of them NEVER saw the light of day. Another reason that it isnot a big priority for either management or the labels to track this info isthat it is intended to inform the avid tabloid TV watcher - potentially tohook and educate someone who might not otherwise know who Amy Grant is andperhaps move them to go buy this new album when they otherwise might not. Andso, if you happen to be someone who watches a lot of TV - chances are realgood that you'll know about these segments and maybe even see them air beforeI will even realize they are coming!
Such was the case with the Jon River's radio special. It was shipped by Myrrhwith a suggested playtime of Labor Day Weekend. I placed a call on Fridaybefore to ask for specifics, but apparently everyone had left early for theholiday. I was able to get a schedule from them this week and the potentialair dates for today and beyond are included. I did happen to hear the specialmyself on Labor Day here in Nashville, but only because my husband waslistening to our local WAY-FM while doing the yard work and rushed in to tellme that it was coming on.
And so - as always - I'll keep you posted and I trust that you will do thesame!
