Amy Grant: News and Information

Amy on Rosie O'Donnell on Monday 10/20

October 16, 1997

Greetings, one and all!

I just received word that Amy has been scheduled to appear on the Rosie O'Donnell Show on Monday, October 20. Check your local ABC affiliate listing for the time in your area. It's 4-5 pm (CST) in Nashville.

Our friends at NetCentral are making this post for me today as I am without my e-mail at this time. I hope to be up and running again by next Wednesday 10/22. Technology can be frustrating at times, but thanks for bearing with us!

We are in the throes of putting the October issue of the Friends of Amy newsletter together. Amy just has not had the time or the energy to write and rewrite those rough drafts that this process requires. Amy asked if I could please call this the "October/November issue", but I am not ready to give up on an October mailing list just yet!

Speaking of which ... One of the things that I plan to include is a piece recallig our friend, Rich Mullins, who was killed in a highway accident on September 19. I have been searching of a photo of Amy and Rich together. Amy doesn't even have one. I say all this on the off chance that someone reading this post might have such a photo. Rich actually opened for Amy during part of the "Unguarded" tour. Anyone get any snaphots? If you have a copy to send - I know Amy would enjoy having it as a keepsake. Thanks!

Even though they were never particularly close, I have heard it often said how very much Rich thought of both Amy and Gary. One of Rich's friends from Wichita, Kansas who spoke at the Nashville memorial service quoted Rich's comments about several of his Nashville buds. Of Amy he said that he had "never know anyone so much like Jesus - and still so cool."

May that be said of more of us!

Until next time ...
