Media Catchups
VH-1 is airing their coverage of the Fairway To Heaven Golf tournamentTODAY! Amy did participate in the event, but I have no idea how muchAmy will be included in this broadcast. When I watched last year's, wegot to see Amy playing "Big Yellow Taxi" accompanied by Bill Murray onhis bag of clubs. That alone was worth watching the whole thing! Here's the URL for VH1's Saturday schedule:http://www.vh1.com/insidevh1/schedule/index.tin?dtSchedDate=11/22/1997Fairway To Heaven IV is on at 3-4:30pm Eastern/Pacific, and at8:30-10pm Eastern/Pacific. (Thanks to Marc Drumm for retrieving the details!)
You are also receiving a notice of an impromptu online chat that we'redoing tomorrow night. This is a "test run" for potentially setting up alive chat room at The Wildhorse. Thanks for your participation and helpin checking out the system. Hopefully, it will enable even more Friendsof Amy to enjoy our hospitality on December 4th.
Keep your eyes peeled for more media updates.
Amy is tentatively planning an appearance on Prime Time Country in midDecember to sing "Tennessee Chirstmas" (no interview). I'll let youknow as soon as the date is confirmed. Amy has also contributed to someupcoming releases... 'WOW 98' from Sparrow contains a previouslyunreleased song, "Carry You"; Amy recorded a guitar duet of the firstsong she ever learned to play, "How Great Thou Art" for Taylor Guitarsand Windham Hill Records. And in reading through Amy's Bluebird chattranscript, I learned that she just recorded a duet with Kevin Costnerfor the soundtrack for his upcoming movie, "Postman". I hope to havemore specifics and release dates soon...
I also learned from the chat that the next pop single is "Nobody Home".Amy mentioned that she would be doing a video for that song on January."Takes A Little Time" is still alive and well. I also understand thatthe video for that song has been chosen for the VH-1 'pop up video'feature. I must confess that I don't understand it all, but it appearsto be an honor and quite a cool effect!
The next Christian music single is "Somewhere Down The Road". It hasbeen released even as we speak, so call your local station if you'venot heard it yet. Once again, Myrrh has outdone themselves on creatinga radio single plus! It contains two versions of the song - the albummix (5 min 4 sec) and a radio edit (4 min 40 sec).It also containsinterviews from the radio show "Soul2Soul". There are some great Q&A,seven additional songs and comments from Pastor Scotty Smith, MartyMcCall & Bonnie Keen (of First Call), Cindy Morgan and the members ofCaedmon's Call. Perhaps once the party is behind us, I can post atranscript of that as well... But don't hold me to it!
