Greetings!
The best of these holidays to you and yours!
I wanted to send you one last update before the fast approaching end ofthe year...
We had another tremendous time with Amy at The Wildhorse SaloonDecember 4! Thanks so much to all who came and all who worked to makethe day such a wonderful experience. I certainly felt better preparedgoing into the day being a "veteran" (I've done two!). Approximately15% of our guests had attended the first gathering and commented howmuch more efficiently they thought the day ran. I had 3 Wildhorseemployees stop me on the way out the door to congratulate me on such awonderful day and to THANK me for bringing our party there. These folksdo 900+ parties a year, so I take that as a real compliment and Iaccept it on behalf of everyone of you who were there. I was so amazedat that staff. By the time I left, they had torn down all our festiveprops and were setting up for 3 more parties to follow ours that day.Whew!! We attended the Thursday night performance and I can honestlysay that it was the best Tennessee Christmas ever! Smitty's commentafterward was, "You think this was something, you oughta see the roadshow!" I can only imagine...
As for updates...
Wednesday, December 17 Amy will appear on "Prime Time Country" at TNNat 8 pm CST repeating at midnight. She is to sing two songs - one ofthem being "Tennessee Christmas" sung with husband/host Gary Chapman.
In Nashville, our local radio station WNAZ 89.1 FM will broadcast "ACompassion Christmas" tonight at 6 pm CST. I just happened to hear anad for it. They played excerpts from Amy and Michael W. Smith talkingabout their experiences with Compassion. It is to be an hour ofinterviews and music from a variety of artists. I do not have abroadcast schedule for other cities. Check with your local Christianmusic station.
I also have not received a broadcast schedule for the Jon Riversspecial Christmas Countdown co-hosted by Amy. She'll be helping tocountdown the top Christmas tunes of all time. I understand that"Tennessee Christmas" is #1. Check with your local Christian musicstation for a broadcast time.
Don't forget the release of the soundtrack of Kevin Costner's newmovie, "The Postman" on December 23. Amy sings "You Didn't Have To BeSo Nice" with a little help from Mr. Costner himself.
The best-of Christian music compilation project "WOW 98" is in yourfavorite local Christian bookstore now. Amy's previously unreleasedtrack "Carry You" is featured on this release.
Still no word on the Taylor Guitar/Windham Hill project. Amy and VinceGill favored those of us at the Nashville shows with a live performanceof the instrumental version of "How Great Thou Art" which they recordedfor this upcoming release.
If I receive any newsflashes, I'll certainly let you know! For allintents and purposes, I'm taking the remainder of December off. I findmyself heading into the New Year at bit weary in my well-doing. I knowthat I am woefully behind on my emails and I do apologize for that. Ijust downloaded 834 messages last week. Before I even look at them, Iknow that some of them are people fussing at me to take them off theemailing list. Then there will be some messages from emailing liststhat others have subscribed me to (no doubt disgruntled because Ihaven't taken them off my mailing list fast enough). Ah well, so itgoes. I look forward to getting squared away with a fresh game plan for98 in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, I intend to give myself fully to thecelebration of this holy season. I wish you all the brightest and mostsincere Truth Christmas has to offer - the birth of hope - the gift ofJesus life, death and life eternal!
