Friday, January 2, 1998 Greetings, Amy-listers! God's highest and best to you and your household this new year! This is my first post to you in 1998. I understand that this list is now 10,547 strong. Salute! There was good news and more good news from Amy and Gary's annual New Year's Eve bash. #1 - no one was even grazed this year when the Christmas trees blew up! When the 13 trees were lined up in the field, there was obvious care and time taken to thoughtfully arrange the fireworks to point those that travelled either straight up or out toward the field. The weather was almost as dry as the trees, so after thoroughly dousing with 18 gallons of gasoline and striking a match, the spectacle was astounding - though rather short-lived. Another year - another windbreak... #2 - my husband was able to find the pre-release CD for that Windham Hill project I've mentioned here before. It's about the only new news I have, but I wanted to let you know: "Sounds of Wood And Steel - A Windham Hill Collection".Product # 01934-11290-2. Amy and Vince Gill's instrumental "How Great Thou Art" is track #5. Release date: January 27, 1998. It was co-produced by the same gentleman at Taylor Guitars who was kind enough to provide us with the Baby Taylor we gave away last fall. In fact, he has a track on the CD himself entitled "Surreal". It's quite a collection of very talented folks; everyone from Leo Kottke to Clint Black to Michael Hedges. A definite winner! And did anyone happen to notice Amy in the comics? It was the "Nancy" comic strip - only two frames in length. It showed up in our December 31 Tennessean newspaper. Nancy's mother is fussing at her to clean up her room and hanging on the wall behind Nancy is a HEART IN MOTION-era Amy poster. I had no idea she was a fan! Until next time... -Lori Mc
