The minutia tries to go on...

March 3, 1998

Monday, March 2, 1998

Well, I compiled this post to make on Feb. 28 only to learn that the
server was down. Sorry this is getting to you so pitifully late.
Sometimes the best we can do is to try...

Golly - the last day of February already!

The minutia goes on... Lots of little announcements here. Sorry they
are so late in coming. Have been working on the ole newsletter most of
the week. At any rate - enjoy!

Sunday, March 1 - a big day for TV watching -

Amy is among the artists participating in the Christopher Reeve
special, "A Celebration of Hope" to air Sunday 3/1 on ABC 8 pm - 10 pm
CST.

You can also catch an Amy segment in the periodic re-running of "Death
in Malibu: Murder of Mogul Charlie Minor". It will be showing on E!TV
3/1 5 pm - 7 pm CST.

And you can see Ruth McGinnis talking about her new book "The Good
Life" (Thomas Nelson Publishers) on Robert Schuller's
"Hour of Power" on ABC 6 am - 7 am CST. You can order Ruth's book from
them by calling 1-800-272-3889

As always - check your local listings for correct times!

In other somewhat related news...

Remember Amy's cameo shot in the Nancy comic strip?

You can own one!

Nancy Comic Strip Reproductions are on sale for $14.95.
They are 11" x 17", printed on high quality paper and look beautiful
framed. Guy will personalize and autograph them if you would like.
Since Amy was featured in the comic, she received the original. They
have gotten sufficient requests that they now make the strip available
to interested folks like you!

This comic strip as well as other merchandise and novelties
can be viewed and purchased through the Studio Store or the T Shirt
Shop - both located on their home page:

Sam's Place fires into its 5th year tomorrow evening at The Ryman. Gary
Chapman hosts this fascinating, entertaining, conglomeration of musical
genres interspersed with hymns and humor. The 98 schedule features a
once-monthly show through November. I do not know the list of guests,
but I haven't been to a "bad" Sam's Place yet. The shows begin at 7:30
pm and we're always done by 10 pm. You can still purchase "series
tickets" - all 9 shows for $105

Spring Series - March 1 through July 5 for $65.50
Fall Series - August 2 through November 1 for $53.00
Call The Ryman to order: 615/254-1445

We are all tickled pink to say that The Brian Mason Show is back on the
air!!!

If you are in the middle Tennessee area on a Sunday morning- you can
tune the radio to 92.9 FM and find the very best in contemporary
Christian music from 6 am to 10 am. It's great to have Brian back!

I have mentioned Ruth McGinnis and her first major interview (which she
is pretty jazzed about). I think that I've also mentioned that she made
a wonderful contribution to our current Friends of Amy Newsletter
outlining the routine she's developed for Amy. Amy also wrote a very
nice and somewhat lengthy forward for Ruth's book "The Good Life". This
is no small feat (this is coming from the person who does well to get a
cover letter out of the woman three times each year...). At any rate -
we are pleased to give Ruth a plug in her budding career as an author.
Plus - it's just plain good stuff to know. Again, if you're in
Nashville - Ruth will be signing copies of her book at Davis-Kidd
Booksellers on March 23. You can call their event hotline number for
more information closer to the date: 615/292-1404
--------
Stephen Haynie - our friend who operates GOODS FOR YOU just picked up
his brand spankin' new catalogue this past week. If you are looking for
anything and everything Amy Grant - this man probably has it. Call or
write to request your copy of his catalogue and visit his site at:

And last, but certainly NOT least, don't forget to check out our
website. Marc Drumm - Webmaster Esquire - will be launching an update
on the 1st. Look for our "Christmas Teaser Page" including the internet
group shot that we made at The Wildhorse together. In fact, we need
your help identifying everyone :-) Go to the Friends of Amy area at:

The newsletter is late, but bulging! It and a new and improved trivia
card are in the able hands of Chuck Hargett - Design Dude
Extraordinaire! Chuck's able hands are quite full these days since
being promoted to head of the Creative Department at Word. Go Chuck!
And thanks for finding time for Amy's newsletter a little while
longer...

That's more than enough for now.

Until next time...
