Greetings from the plains! Marc Drumm graciously offered to pass along my message to you and I am happy to touch base with you in this way! My family and I made it to Nebraska safely, though it was a bit of a misadventure getting here. Everything from moving van troubles (had to call the mechanic twice) to losing one of our kitties in Paducah, Kentucky (he's solid black, short-haired about 9 pounds and his name is Furr Ball if you happen to see him - let Marc know!) Stephen started his new job June 8 and is enjoying the new people and challenges of helping to get the Pegler Sysco computer system converted. I am pleased to be a midwestern housewife and mom. I've never been a non-working mom. It is a luxury and I don' know how long it will last. I am hoping to maintain at least until fall and the starting of school. Already, one of the ladies at church mentioned to me that she passed my name along to the mayor who is apparently looking for someone to do some P.R. work for the city... I have another friend who has been compiling pieces for a book for several years and wants me to type the manuscript for her. I don't think there will be a shortage of opportunities for me when I am ready to hit the dusty work trail again... I do miss my interactions with you folks. The thing I missed most when the F.O.A. office was moved out of the house was my computer and access to the internet. Even now - I'm sitting in our lovely public library facility in Beatrice. Because I only get here once a week and am limited to my free email address at the moment - I'll wish you all well from here. I hope you'll understand my not including an email address for you to write to me. Perhaps when we get set up at home - I can be a functional e-pal again. Thanks a heap for thinking of me and asking about me. It does mean alot. I've said it before - there are some wonderfully supportive and encouraging people in this group and I'm much richer for having known you. God's blessings and "Happy Trails" from middle America! -Lori Mc
