Everyone,

Rumors about the status of the marriage of Amy Grant and Gary Chapman have been going around for awhile. Last week, tabloid publication "The Star" published a story saying their marriage is "on the rocks" and that Amy has "turned to ...Vince Gill for comfort." This is no doubt a contributing factor to the increase of the intensity of these rumors in recent days.

Another rumor states that Amy and Gary have begun a six-month trial separation.

Obviously, since Gary Chapman is closely associated with CCM Magazine as host of the "CCM Countdown," you may be wondering what to say when people ask you about the status of Amy & Gary's relationship or Gary's relationship with CCM.

Here's what we know:

1. Amy and Gary are not separated. They still live together at Riverstone Farm.
2. Neither party has filed for divorce.
3. The marriage is troubled and they have been in counseling.
4. Amy has repeatedly claimed that she and Vince Gill are "just friends."

Other than the above, we have no comment on their personal lives. Unless the situation changes in some material way, it is just rumor and gossip, which neither we personally nor our publications should be engaged in. And unless a situation presents itself that requires us to re-think things, Gary will remain as host of the "CCM Countdown" until he decides to move on.

Let's pray for these people rather than gossip about them and encourage others to do the same.
